The sound of Pomp and Circumstance is in the air as family members of RVM employees walked across the stage recently and earned their degrees. Congratulations and we wish them the best in their further academic or professional pursuits!
Let's hear accolades and well wishes for these graduates these family members have graduated this year.
Joe Dodd, husband of Director of Nursing Laura Dodd at Orange, recently graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston with a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner with honors.
Lauren Plunkett, daughter of Finance Manager Ron Plunkett at the Home Office, graduated from Southwestern Law School on May 17, passed the California Bar on May 15, got engaged to Troy Cox, and employed as an Associate by the Green Law Group in Simi Valley, CA. Lauren is considering studying for the Washington D.C. Bar, which would enable her to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including Colorado.
Lauren was recognized at graduation for her public service achievements, in addition to her academic successes. Lauren has mentored a Japanese Exchange student from Fairview High School in Boulder and loves helping others plan and achieve their goals through hard work and mentoring.
Kathryn Anne Huchton, daughter of Home Training Case Manager Jonette Sue Huchton at Tyler, graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Marine Biology. Kathryn has always loved the water and water activities since she was a baby and by the age of twelve she was a Certified Open Water Scuba Diver.
She currently is a certified Advanced Open Water Diver, Cavern Diver, Scuba Rescue Diver, Dive Master, Nitrox Diver, and Scientific Diver. She was invited to participate in a research trip to the Texas Flower Gardens on a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration research vessel. For the last three years she has helped plan and lead students with the Biosphereology Class field trip to Tennessee.
She plans on continuing her education to get her Master's and Doctorate in Marine Biology. She wants to explore and focus her research on underwater caves and marine life.
It was a proud day for Kelly Michie, daughter of Home Office Accounts Payable Specialist Kim Michie who graduated with Honors from Colorado State University with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Studies.
Kelly has been accepted to the graduate program at the University of Texas - Austin and plans to earn her PhD in Microbiology. Through Kelly's lab rotations and research this year she has worked with many talented Microbiologists on various vaccines to eradicate emerging diseases.
Dustan and Derick Miller, twin sons of CCHT Tonya Miller at Mountain Home, graduated from Mountain Home High School. They plan to attend Arkansas State University - Mountain Home in the Fall.
Kennedy Butler, daughter of MPP Infusion Advanced Nurse Practitioner Jene' Butler, walked across the stage and graduated from kindergarten on June 5.
